Summer Reading Club
June 29-August 29
For everyone ages 0-109
Read and win this summer!
How to Participate:
1. Sign up at Summer Reading Center, located in the Children’s Room.
Everyone, ages 0-109, who lives in North Tonawanda, Wheatfield, or Pendleton can participate. Everyone will sign up in the Children’s Room. You’ll receive a bingo board, calendar of events, sign-up prize, and NIOGA passport.
2. Fill out your bingo board! Every single square you complete earns you a raffle ticket for our many, fabulous prizes!
Stop into the Summer Reading Center to receive your raffle tickets and prize once you complete your bingo board. Please note: this year, you can ONLY turn in full boards until August 16th. From August 16th to August 29, we will accept partial boards for tickets and prizes; we can check each board only once. The final prize is earned with at least 5 bingo squares completed. If you finish your bingo board, you get a ticket into our bonus Full Board Raffle and can keep reading with our bonus bingo boards. All tickets must be in by Saturday, August 29th. Winners will be notified and able to pick up their prizes starting on Friday, Sept. 4.
3. Attend programs at the library
We have a program almost every day this summer! Concerts, crafts, storyhours, educational programs, visits from museums, a birthday party for the USA, even a hot dog picnic– there’s something for everyone. You’ll get a calendar with all of our events when you sign up for summer reading. You can also check out our event calendar and social media for full details.
NIOGA Passports:
NIOGA Library System’s popular Passport program is back!
When you sign up for Summer Reading, you’ll receive a passport. Each library you visit in Niagara, Orleans, and Genesee counties will give you a stamp for your passport, along with a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Tonie, Lego Art Set, or 6″ Kindle. Take the chance to see all of the great libraries in our system! Remember, you can take books out of any NIOGA branch and can also return them to any NIOGA branch, so find new books everywhere you visit.
Read Down Your Fines:
Kids and Teens 18 and under can read down their fines, June 29-August 29!
If you’re 18 years old or younger, you can get rid of your fines the easy way—by reading! Each 1/2 hour of reading you log earns $1 off of your library fines. To participate, pick up a form at the Information Desk or download it here. Read at the library or at home. If you read at the library, please go to the Information Desk or Children’s Room Desk and let a librarian know you plan to read down your fines, then let them know when you’re done to get a waiver. If you read at home, grab a form, have an adult verify when you read, then bring in your completed form to the Circulation Desk. Please note, this only counts for fines incurred at the North Tonawanda branch and does not count for lost items.
Anything you read counts–print books, ebooks, magazines, fanfic, audiobooks, graphic novels, etc.
This Summer Reading program is for residents of North Tonawanda, Wheatfield, and Pendleton.
